Why Revel exists.
I worked in bigger organisations for a long time, and what wore me down in the end was watching the operational decision win over the human one. Someone would come back with one more change and the answer would be that they'd had their two rounds of amends. I understand why rules like that exist, and I still think it's a poor way to treat somebody who has trusted you with how their business looks. After enough of those I wanted to run something where the answer could just be yes.

That's more or less all Revel is, really. We look after clients and we try to make the job easy for them, and the process fits around that rather than the other way about, which is why we've never capped how many rounds of feedback you get on a project.

Tom, Director
What that looks like on a job.
We don't limit feedback rounds, and the job is done when it is done. In practice that is usually two or three rounds and a bit of fine tuning, because if a job needs many more than that we have misread the brief or not asked enough questions at the start, and that is ours to put right rather than yours to pay for.

If something changes on your side partway through, we talk about it there and then and sort it out in the room.

We're a small team, so you deal with one person all the way through.

You get a fixed cost in writing before we start, and the invoice at the end is that number. We do not come back to you because something took us longer than we thought it would.

The footage and the photos belong to you, and we'll keep helping you get more out of them after the job's done.

Who you'll be working with.
There are a handful of us, so you'll probably meet most of us at some point.

Tom
Director
Founded the studio and is still on most shoots. Came up through every production role at Mustard TV, then built and led the video team at Archant.

Lee
Head of Design
Brand, print and anything that has to look right on a page. He shaped how Revel itself looks.

Rylan
Videographer and Photographer
Shooting and editing across the client list, and finishing a Content Creator apprenticeship as he goes.

Alex
Operations
Runs operations, so the shoot you booked happens on the day we said it would.
Who we work with.
We don't really sort clients by size or budget. A startup might come to us for a small set of photography with a clear idea of what it's for, and we'll put the same care into that as anything else, because the size of the budget doesn't change how much it matters to them. Royal London Asset Management come to us for international video promoting their portfolio to shareholders. What matters to us is whether we can genuinely help, so if you think we can, then we're probably worth a conversation.
Trusted by organisations who value the work, and the way it gets made
Most of the organisations we work with come back for the next piece, and a fair few of them have become friends along the way.

What clients tend to say.
Two things come up more than anything else.

The first is that we're easy to work with and we get the brief. We've been doing this a long time and there's a lot of experience to draw on, so you shouldn't have to explain your own business to us twice.

The second is that we're good at putting people at ease. Most people hate being on camera, and the person you most need to feature is usually the one least keen to do it, so we put real effort into making the day enjoyable for them.

"Life is short. If this can't be an enjoyable exercise, we've missed the point."

People who turn up nervous usually leave feeling they did well, and the footage is better because of it.

What we like most.
The nicest part of this job is seeing that we've made a difference to a business, and that might be a big project, or a few small things over a year, or a talk we've done for nothing, and it doesn't really matter which because the point of it is the same.

Got something in mind, or just the start of an idea? Talk to us and we'll work out whether we're the right fit.
