Kathy Ennis, LittlePiggy: Women Talk Business

Kathy Ennis is a small business adviser and mentor who runs LittlePiggy, and she wanted people to see how she does what she does. We filmed one of her live sessions, Women Talk Business: The Truth Behind the Hype, held with BIPC Norfolk at the Millennium Library in Norwich.

Filming someone who's running a live session means not distracting them and being ready the whole time, because the good moments come when they come. You don't want to film the entire session, so we mic'd her up before she started and watched carefully for the moments that mattered: her key lines, the exchanges with the group, the points she most wanted to get across. She told us afterwards that she forgot we were there most of the time, which is exactly the idea.

Once the session finished, we sat down with her for an interview about the day, which became the spine of the film. We also grabbed short interviews with people who'd been in the room and enjoyed it, and worked through with them what had stuck so their words backed up her message. She got a promo film with client testimonials on screen, a captioned version, a square version for social and a set of stills.

"I love the video... I think it really captured the essence of the day as well as the things I want to say."
